Under the Microscope
Under the Microscope, the Pinterest board of GE Healthcare designed to showcase their new INCell analyser system, is full of amazing images like the two above. According to the board, the INCell analyser “combines a microscope, camera and powerful software to take images of fluorescently stained cells and provide researchers with valuable and detailed information about specific reactions within a living cell.” The results are certainly visually spectacular - the images above show a co-culture of primary rat hippocampal neurons and astrocytes stained for βIII-tubulin (green), astrocyte-specific GFAP (red) and DNA (blue). The images were used in research into neurobiology and neurotoxicity.
